rather like a shark is a new theatre company founded by graduates of the University of Durham. We produce fast, relevant, contemporary musical theatre: and we promise this isn't a contradiction in terms.
rather like a shark was founded to produce shows that, for reasons of small scale or controversial content, were overlooked by Durham's more mainstream musical theatre groups. Our first production was Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World ('outstanding ... the best thing I have seen all year', Palatinate), followed by Stephen Sondheim's Assassins at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe ('my word, this was an accomplished performance! ... a very ingenious production', edfringe.com).
We're currently redeveloping our website, which will relaunch soon with details of our ambitious project to cast a new production of Songs for a New World for Edinburgh 2009 from students all around the UK.
